Approximate analytical solution for transient heat and mass transfer across an irregular interface

چکیده

Motivated by practical applications in heat conduction and contaminant transport, we consider mass diffusion across a perturbed interface separating two finite regions of distinct diffusivity. Under the assumption continuity solution diffusive flux at interface, use perturbation theory to develop an asymptotic expansion valid for small perturbations. Each term satisfies initial-boundary value problem on unperturbed domain subject conditions depending previously determined terms expansion. Demonstration is carried out specific, practically-relevant set initial boundary with semi-analytical solutions problems developed using standard Laplace transform eigenfunction techniques. Results several choices confirm good agreement numerical solution.

Analytical-Approximate Solution for Nonlinear Volterra Integro-Differential Equations

In this work, we conduct a comparative study among the combine Laplace transform and modied Adomian decomposition method (LMADM) and two traditional methods for an analytic and approximate treatment of special type of nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equations of the second kind. The nonlinear part of integro-differential is approximated by Adomian polynomials, and the equation is reduce...

An approximate model for slug flow heat transfer in channels of arbitrary cross section

In this paper, a novel approximate solution to determine the Nusselt number for thermally developed, slug (low-prandtl), laminar, single phase flow in channels of arbitrary cross section is presented. Using the Saint-Venant principle in torsion of beams, it is shown that the thermally developed Nusselt number for low-prandtl flow is only a function of the geometrical parameters of the channel c...

An Analytical Solution for Transient Heat and Moisture Diffusion in a Double-Layer Plate

In most materials, there exists a coupling effect between heat and moisture during their transient diffusion. In particular, the coupling effect gives a significant change in the distributions of temperature and moisture concentration in some porous materials and resin composites (Chang, et al., 1991). Moreover, it is known that the absorption of moisture by hygroscopic materials under high-tem...

An efficient approximate method for solution of the heat equation using Laguerre-Gaussians radial functions

In the present paper, a numerical method is considered for solving one-dimensional heat equation subject to both Neumann and Dirichlet initial boundary conditions. This method is a combination of collocation method and radial basis functions (RBFs). The operational matrix of derivative for Laguerre-Gaussians (LG) radial basis functions is used to reduce the problem to a set of algebraic equatio...

Using Burnett Equations to Derive an Analytical Solution to Pressure-Driven Gas Flow and Heat Transfer in Micro-Couette Flow

The aim of the present study is deriving an analytical solution to incompressible thermal flow in a micro-Couette geometry in the presence of a pressure gradient using Burnett equations with first- and second-order slip boundary conditions. The lower plate of the micro-Couette structure is stationary, whereas the upper plate moves at a constant velocity. Non-dimensional axial velocity and tempe...
